Seeing as its taken me too long to get this going anyways, I suppose its time to open up my new site…sort of.
A few months ago I noticed that there was a definite lack of quality Torontonian streetstyle. I’ve looked around and I’m always bummed at the blogs and websites that are doing streetstyle because honestly, it isn’t a true representation of how well a lot of us Torontonians dress. So, I’m taking it upon myself to try and change that.
While the majority of the content will be streetstyle, the new blog is also going to serve as a place where I can post whatever other work I might be doing as well. Portraits of friends, my general goings on, etc etc. Gaws has gotten far too impersonal to post anything work related on and I want a place where the images are 100% my own.
With respect to the streetstyle (which is the primary focus), expect lots of candids. I hate posed portrait so I’m going to try and avoid it as much as I can. Sometimes its necessary but I’d much prefer to do without it. I’m much more detail oriented, and much less concerned with full outfits. Sure, sometimes full outfits are great, but I think a lot of the time there’s one specific thing about a person that really makes them stand out, which is what I care about. Its the small stuff, the stuff that really speaks much more to a persons style and separates them from a group, that I want.
I’ve always been a bit amazed with the following I’ve received over the past year. I really never thought a year ago when I registered htte.tumblr.com (yeah it wasn’t always Gaws) I’d end up with the sort of recognition I have now. I really do appreciate all the love I’ve gotten over the last 13 months, even though I know I can be a dick sometimes.
But I digress. What I’m getting at is - you guys have enjoyed Gaws, and I’m hoping that Liam Saw This will get even a fraction of the same love. Truth be told, LST is way more important to me right now, and I hope that one day it turns into my main blog, leaving Gaws as the inspiration springboard that it started off as when I signed up last July.
The site is still very much under construction, and there are a lot of changes to come, but I’m way too impatient to wait and fully iron the kinks out, and I wanna start posting, so forget it. The business cards are in the mail, the posts are lining up and there isn’t much to change on the website except I still need someone to make me a damn logo.
With that said, thank you guys, and I hope you enjoy the new project as much as I’m looking forward to beginning it.
